Short answer: when short-notice availability is released, it appears in the official MyRoadSafety portal. This service monitors public slot data and sends informational alerts; it does not book or reserve appointments.
Where cancellations come from
Candidates may reschedule or cancel, and the RSA may also release appointment capacity. The RSA confirms that tests cancelled at short notice are made available to the public through MyRoadSafety.
How they appear on screen
Available short-notice appointments are displayed through MyRoadSafety. They are limited and offered first-come-first-served, so the portal remains the authoritative place to confirm a date.
Why manual refreshing rarely wins
Availability can change between manual checks. An alert reduces repeated checking by notifying you after public data shows a new slot, but it cannot hold that appointment.
How our service watches
We periodically read publicly available slot data across every monitored centre. When new availability appears at a centre you asked to watch, our server sends a push notification to your phone. There is no booking, reservation or access to your personal RSA account.
A practical note on speed
Even with alerts, a slot can be taken before you open MyRoadSafety. Set up notifications, keep your account details ready and monitor only centres you can realistically attend — browse our centre directory.
